Sylvania Event Builds Inclusion

Dr. Ruslan Slutsky Explains Benefits of Unguided Play for Schoolchildren

Periods of unguided play can give students opportunities to discover and invent on their own, and there are ways educators can involve themselves in playtime without interrupting that sense of discovery for students, said Ruslan Slutsky, a professor of teacher education at the University of Toledo’s Judith Herb College of Education.  Read more here


Shirrell White, JHCOE Student Joins UToledo Rocket Kids Program

Shirrell White applied and was accepted, along with two other Education students, to participate in the University of Toledo’s Rocket Kids Program.  Unsure of flying 4,000 miles away from home to Italy, she was happy she did.  Rocket Kids is providing her the opportunity to travel the world and teach students of military families from 6th to 12th grade.
