Flu Activity in the U.S. up to February 2, 2019: Maybe it isn’t as bad as we are led to believe!

Compared with recent influenza seasons, as of February 2, 2019, severity this season has been low, with a lower percentage of outpatient visits for influenza-like illness, lower rates of hospitalization, and fewer deaths attributed to pneumonia and influenza…..”

The figure is a line graph showing the percentage of outpatient visits for influenza-like illness reported to CDC, by surveillance week, based on data from the U.S. Outpatient Influenza-Like Illness Surveillance Network during the 2018–19 influenza season and selected previous influenza seasons.
